PAIN MANAGEMENT
EPIDURAL STEROID INJECTIONS
An epidural steroid injection (ESI) is a minimally invasive procedure that can help relieve neck, arm, back, and leg pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves due to spinal stenosis or disc herniation.
Medicines are delivered to the epidural space, which is a fat-filled area between the bone and the protective sac of the spinal nerves. Pain relief may last for several days or even years. The goal is to reduce pain so that you may resume normal activities and a physical therapy program.
NERVE BLOCK INJECTIONS
Nerve block Injections are special procedures that can help prevent or help manage various types of pain caused by a group of nerves called a plexus or ganglion. During this procedure, medicine is injected that blocks and numbs pain from those specific nerves. It is often performed to determine if a specific nerve root is the source of your pain and to reduce the inflammation around that nerve.
Our services include: Selective Nerve Root Block (SNRB), Facet Joint Block (Cervical, Thoracic, and Lumbar), Occipital Nerve Block, Stellate Ganglion Block, and Sympathetic Nerve Block.
TRIGGER POINT INJECTIONS
A trigger point injection can help soothe muscle pain, especially in your arms, legs, lower back and neck. It also can be used to treat fibromyalgia, tension headaches and myofascial pain.
Trigger points are painful “knots” in your muscles. They form when a muscle can’t relax. Sometimes you can feel these knots when you rub your muscle. Injecting small amounts of anesthetic and steroid into the trigger point can help alleviate the pain.
SPINAL CORD STIMULATION THERAPY
Spinal Cord Stimulators (SCS) are implantable neuromodulation devices used to treat chronic pain by generating mild electrical pulses to nerves along the spinal cord (dorsal column) which interrupt the perception of pain as it travels to the brain.
Spinal Cord Stimulation Therapy is often considered for those who suffer from chronic pain and have not responded to more conservative therapy.
RADIOFREQUENCY NERVE ABLATION
Radiofrequency Nerve Ablation as a minimally invasive treatment option offered to those who suffer from chronic nerve and back pain. This treatment option involves the use of radiofrequency waves to destroy a damaged nerve’s ability to send pain signals to the brain.
IV CONSCIOUS SEDATION
At Timothy Groth MD PC, we ensure that our patients are provided with the highest quality of care while in the most comfortable, safe, and controlled atmosphere. We understand that some patients may be nervous or anxious about their procedure.
Our priority is to not only give our patients peace of mind but to also help them conquer any anxiety. We gladly offer IV Conscious Sedation (also called “twilight” sedation) to help reduce any stress you may feel about your next procedure and minimize any discomfort.
VIA DISC NP INJECTIONS
VIA Disc is a non-surgical treatment option for patients suffering from chronic lower back pain resulting from degenerative disc disease. This treatment option is used to repair damage to degenerative discs, provide significant pain relief and improve function.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT
At Timothy Groth MD PC, we understand that pain management is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Each patient's experience with pain is unique, and therefore requires a personalized approach to treatment.
As part of our comprehensive care strategy, we offer a multimodal medication regimen that aims to address pain from various angles.
